Portland Harbor Hotel Ice Bar January 2013

Portland Harbor Hotel Ice Bar January 24, 25 and 26

PORTLAND, Maine – Portland Harbor Hotel’s Annual Ice Bar, a celebration of the icy beauty of winter, opens on Thursday, January 24, 2013 and will run through Saturday, January 26. Tickets are on sale now for the Ice Bar through Brown Paper Tickets (brownpapertickets.com). Tickets to this 21+ event start at $20 per person and are not available at the door; the event sells out in advance.

This annual winter tradition is also a fundraiser for three local organizations; funds are raised through the tickets purchased. Ice Bar 2012 raised $15,000 for Gary’s House, affiliated with Mercy Hospital, Ronald McDonald House and Share our Strength Southern Maine.
Ice Bar 2013 will feature martini bars pouring specialty cocktails featuring Smirnoff vodkas as well as an ice bar serving Shipyard Brewery’s popular beers. A full bar is available indoors.

The Ice Bar is carved outside in the hotel’s courtyard and is surrounded by fire pits and ice sculptures. Inside the hotel, attendees will enjoy music provided by a DJ and complimentary samples from area restaurants including Buck's Naked BBQ, Spread, Zapoteca and the hotel’s own Eve's at the Garden.
The Ice Bar is open from 5 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. each day. Sponsors of the Ice Bar include Smirnoff and Shipyard Brewery. Valet parking is available at the hotel for $5.
