I love Portland.  I live here with my daughter and husband and I’m grateful to call this great city my home now.  Although I grew up eating chicken nuggets and fries (and a mom who always tried but usually wound up totally frustrated with me), my palate has evolved.   How ironic that now I write about food!  My preferences are simple, healthy (not wheat grass -healthy) and even occasionally – refined (but don’t ask me about ceviche or calamari).  I gravitate toward vegetable-centered meals but I do enjoy a delicious tenderloin from time to time.  For a quick bite, my favorite place is El Rayo and my favorite dinner splurge is Walter’s.  I’m still on the hunt for a healthy take-out joint or that perfect family-friendly place where my daughter will eat something besides...you guessed it - chicken nuggets and fries
