It came as no surprise that The Good Table was bustling on a Friday night at 7:30 pm, even in the winter. The atmosphere was warm and cozy and there was nothing more inviting than candlelight and a warm fire in the cold winter months. The friendly hostess let us pick our table and shortly after, Lisa came by to describe the specials. She did a fantastic job of selling the dishes and my husband couldn’t resist the short ribs and rigatoni special after hearing about how the ribs were cooked to perfection, with the meat falling off the bones. I chose the gyros platter because the restaurant specializes in Greek dishes. The portions were large (almost too large for my liking) and the flavor was authentic. The staff went the extra length to make the dining experience pleasant. One of my favorite parts was that we felt no hurry and we were able to linger, enjoy our wine and talk long after our dinner plates were cleared. Prices are moderate. The platter was $11.50 and the special was $23.00. This would be a great place to bring out-of-town guests who want to get a taste of local flavor or have a meal that doesn’t scream "chain restaurant."
